it’s been almost a day since i touched down into bangalore HAL airport with 8 humongous bags and 4 carry-ons. plus the entire family to tug along. thank heavens for my brothers’ pad. we are in ‘holding pattern’ in his apartment, pending our own apartment hunt. it so happened (huh! why is this a surprise [...] the house is a bottomless pit of junk! we spent all day packing until the luggage maxed out. the airlines allow 25kg per bag, and 2 bags per person. and closed down the kitchen and giving away whatever stuff we had left over to friends and neighbors or at the goodwill donation center (they are [...] i seriously don’t know when i’d be back on the slopes, so i jumped on an opportunity to hit the tahoe ski slopes a couple of weeks ago. i was driving by myself from south bay to south lake tahoe area, and went via 580/I-5 route. as soon as you hit highway 5, the traffic [...] our reverse migration to bangalore, india in a week or so. over the last few weeks i keep getting asked about how i made the decision, to how i could pull it off in a short period of time, to the lifestyle changes etc. so it appears like some sort of return to motherland is [...] after endless deliberations with dear wife, hundreds of beer-induced nostalgic midnight rant-trips with friends, ‘here vs there’ charts of comparison, senti-fundas and what-if scenarios, i decided to shift base to bangalore. notice how i am not saying ‘moving back for good’ after spending about 6 months working for my beloved company Yahoo! in bangalore, [...] |
