babajob.com seems to have a decent number of listings of people available for domestic help, mainly in bangalore. click below to see what they offer. the site shows quite a bit of promise, but clearly are getting ahead of themselves. the registration process has a big bug, and yet they have opened a half-baked social [...] observing at close quarters, some things are outright amazing about salary packages in india. hopefully other r2i brotheren could get some clues. IT jobs pay 2x or 3x when compared to non-it companies., regardless of whether the job is a technical job or not. mid-level managers make at par with the lower-quartile of their pay [...] my 3-yr old twin boys barely notice the transition. but i think their lifestyle has changed significantly, and do believe their trajectory is going to be profoundly different. in the bay area, they used to have a quite an opportunity for playtime. we had a townhome right across the street from the dixon landing park [...] quick check-in after 2 months of arriving in bangalore with self and family. most things are in place, except for the cable tv hookup. more on the gadgetry later. but i thought i’d post about a few aspects of bangalore life and contrast with bay area life in the next few posts. here’s the first [...] finally (!!) we got our household goods delivered to our home in bangalore yesterday. here’s the story of the voyage of my stuff across the 7 seas. we basically chose our shipping carrier (air7seas) on the basis of the ads they place on various free mags that we used to browse around at desi food [...] |
