Yahoo! Adds Video to Front Page

i used to hate it when yahoo videos played in a pop-up player/browser. finally, i was pleasantly surprised to see a very neat integration of video content to the front page. is Video Integration on Yahoo! Front Page

this the next model of hybrid (vido+text) content consumption?

- video content is played inline
- textual teaser leads into video content
- sponsored brand placement within the video
- editorial selection of videos will guarantee some decent level of interestingness
- it has the usual after-the-play recommended videos
monetization could use tweaking – the graphical ad unit (lrec) could rotate offers to generate more inventory. plus, they should’ve shown the # of views of the video.. mainly because people seem to be obsessed with that count, and yahoo front page placement will generate thousands literally in an hour.

and.. Larry Beil could use an upgrade. we don’t need to see his hairy chest anymore.
