Facebook’s Ad Platform
facebook came out with a advertising product for the masses – the usual things aside the following screenshot gives a glimpse of the targeting capabilities it offers. one thing you can’t see is that the system offers a selection of keywords that it understands.
david berkowitz from search insider has a story on how it correlates to search advertising model. here’s another note to add to his observations:
- the beacons on the partner sites could just be a carrot. we could soon see the partners offering the same targeted ad products using facebook’s the above parameters. think of text link ads, buffed up with facebook profile and news feed info.
- this obviously is quite simplistic and sexy : they are bound to get to more mundane things like fraud, analytics, geo targeting, spam etc as advertisers start to come in
